O’zapft is! At HeimWerk in Düsseldorf’s Old Town, around the corner from Carlsplatz, Bavarian specialities are served. With the opening on 7 November 2019, the Munich-based company Heimwerk expanded on the Rhein – the third branch is also the first outside Munich. Contrary to all the clichés, the down-to-earth and cosy atmosphere also fits here, in Düsseldorf.
Classics such as Schnitzel (also vegetarian), Backhendl and Bratwurst give the guests a “Bavarian” feeling. Since home cooking does not necessarily have to be prepared with meat, you will also find vegetable dishes such as spinach dumplings and various salad specialities. Signature dishes include veal and pork schnitzel as well as Kaiserschmarrn. The drinks’ menu includes wines, cocktails and of course Bavarian beers as well as old beers to toast the Bavarian-Rhenish friendship!
The menu itself is like a modular system in which the guest can put everything together as he or she pleases. You can also order several snacks for sharing or trying out and combine them with any accessories you like.
The fresh food is prepared exclusively from regional and high-quality ingredients and without artificial additives or flavour enhancers. With the open kitchen, guests can convince themselves of this with their own eyes. The Düsseldorf HeimWerk has almost 300 seats inside and outside plus a bar. The rustic wood panelling on the walls, the home-made tables and lamps and the loving details of the interior furnishings create a homely atmosphere.
