Already planned your visit to the trade fair in Frankfurt? Why not extend your trip and take some time to discover this beautiful city on the River Main? A boat tour, for example, offers a fantastic way to see the city beyond the exhibition halls.

For a unique local experience, don’t miss the Nordend district – a true hidden gem. It’s known for its cozy cafés, lively bars, and excellent restaurants. The relaxed atmosphere and wide range of international cuisine make it perfect for a leisurely afternoon or evening.
If you’re interested in culture, be sure to check out the Frankfurt Playhouse or the Opera House – both internationally acclaimed and known for their world-class performances.

Is this your first time in Frankfurt? Then the historic Old Town is a must-see. The Römerberg square with its half-timbered buildings, and the impressive St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral are true highlights. And for art lovers, the Städel Museum is a top recommendation – home to one of Germany’s most important art collections, featuring works by Rembrandt, Monet, and Picasso.

Need more ideas? Just ask – we’re happy to share more insider tips. We can even help choose your hotel based on your planned activities around the city.

Looking to unwind after a long day at the trade fair? Not sure where to go?

One of our top recommendations is Apfelwein Wagner, a beloved Frankfurt restaurant famous for its local apple wine, known as “Ebbelwoi.” Hearty regional dishes round out the menu – don’t miss the traditional Frankfurter Grüne Soße (green sauce) or Handkäs mit Musik (a marinated cheese specialty with onions and vinegar). It’s a favorite among locals, too.

Another great choice for regional cuisine is Apfelwein Dax. This rustic and traditional spot offers a classic atmosphere and dishes like pork ribs with sauerkraut and, of course, Handkäs mit Musik.

Vegan and vegetarian guests are also in for a treat in Frankfurt – especially at Vevay. This modern, stylish restaurant focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients and creative plant-based dishes. With an open kitchen and a relaxed bar, the atmosphere is as inviting as the food. A must-try: the Vevay Bowls, combining vegetables, protein sources, and flavorful dressings in unique ways.

Prefer a sophisticated evening? Head to the Long Island Summer Lounge, where you can sip expertly crafted cocktails while enjoying stunning views of Frankfurt’s skyline – the perfect way to wrap up your day.

ISH 2027 will take place at Messe Frankfurt. In 2025, around 260,000 square meters of hall space were used for the event. An interactive site map helps both visitors and exhibitors find their way around the exhibition grounds. It also includes information on parking areas and access via public transport.

At the last ISH in 2025, a total of 163,157 visitors from 150 countries attended – a 7% increase compared to the 2023 edition of the world’s leading trade fair for water, heating, and air technologies. The skilled trades sector was particularly well represented, making up 30% of all attendees.

With 2,183 exhibitors from 54 countries, ISH showcased a wide range of innovations and solutions across the SHK and HVAC industries.
